Computer Production Engineer

Job Description:
Aspen Systems, a premier manufacturer of Beowulf clusters, has an immediate opening for a computer production engineer. Candidates must possess high energy, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and an in-depth knowledge of Linux. Ability to assemble, support and debug complex computer systems is a must. Some heavy lifting (70+ pounds) is required.

Job Responsibility:
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: building and testing computer systems; installation of operating systems, drivers, and applications; layout, assembly, and cabling of racks; configuring Ethernet switches, Uninterrupted Power Supplies (UPS), Keyboard/Video/Mouse (KVM) switches and terminal servers; balancing power distribution; construction, moving and loading 2,000 pound shipping units; auditing finished product before shipping; troubleshooting and repairing failed systems; aiding customers with remote system troubleshooting via phone and e-mail; handling and documenting returned materials.

Additional Experience:

• Knowledge of Myrinet, InfiniBand and/or Fortran is helpful
