Senior Web Developer - ASP.NET & C#

Job Description:
Aspen Systems Inc., a leading manufacturer of Beowulf clusters and high-performance computer systems, seeks an experienced senior-level ASP.NET Web Developer to perform development on our internal and external web sites. We will consider a full-time, part-time or contract position for the right person depending upon skills and requirements.

Job Responsibility:
The web developer will plan, design and implement new web projects, maintain current web sites and site content, and integrate with back end systems as needed. Candidate must be able to integrate quickly into the team & work independently. Teamwork, attention to detail, and good communication skills are a must.

Required Skills & Knowledge:
Extensive ASP.NET web site programming experience in C# using VS.NET and codebehind; The ability to create web pages using XHTML-compliant markup style is an absolute requirement - VS.NET Designer-generated HTML is not acceptable; Solid knowledge of relational database models and object-oriented methodology is necessary; Must be familiar with relational database management and administration using SQL Server; Must have strong SQL skills and the ability to use ADO.NET to access SQL Server databases for web site use; Knowledge of Windows Internet technologies including Windows 2000 and IIS configuration; Must have experience using JavaScript, DHTML and CSS (Cascading Style Sheets); Experience with web graphics, layout and design are required; Must be able to use Photoshop for the creation and modification of web graphics.

Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent education and experience

Additional Experience:

• A minimum of 5 years proven experience designing and developing professional, database-driven, interactive web sites
• A minimum of 2 years developing ASP.NET (1.1) web sites in C# using Visual Studio.NET and the codebehind model
• ASP.NET 2.0 experience will be helpful, especially experience with upgrading ASP.NET 1.1 sites and code to version 2.0
• The ability to write clean, consistent, well-documented C# code following a previously established style is a must
• Must be able to test & debug your own code and must be able to write & test pages to display in all major web browsers (XHTML knowledge is a requirement)
• Prior experience using XML, XSL / XSLT for the web will be useful
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Experience with Perl & Perl CGI scripts for the web is helpful
• Linux experience and knowledge of the Linux OS will also be helpful, but is not required
