Computer Assembly Technician

Job Description:
Aspen Systems, a premier manufacturer of Beowulf clusters, has an immediate opening for an entry-level computer assembly technician. Candidates should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a working knowledge of Windows, Linux and Unix with the ability to install Microsoft and Unix-based operating systems. The computer assembly technician should be able to assemble, repair and troubleshoot complex computer systems. Some heavy lifting (70+ pounds) is required. This is an entry-level position starting at $10/hour.

Job Responsibility:
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: building and testing computer systems; installation of operating systems, drivers, and applications; layout, assembly, and cabling of racks; configuring Ethernet switches, Uninterrupted Power Supplies (UPS), Keyboard/Video/Mouse (KVM) switches and terminal servers; balancing power distribution; construction, moving and loading 2,000 pound shipping units; auditing finished product before shipping; troubleshooting and repairing failed systems; aiding customers with remote system troubleshooting via phone and e-mail; and handling and documenting returned materials.
