ASPEN SYSTEMS IS NAMED ONE OF COLORADO'S FASTEST GROWING TECHNOLOGY COMPANIES IN DELOITTE TECHNOLOGY FAST 50 PROGRAM FOR THE SECOND YEAR IN A ROW
Wheat Ridge, Colorado, October 5, 2004
- Aspen Systems, Inc., a leader in the custom design, manufacture and service of a wide array of Linux-based high-performance computing solutions, is once again named to Deloitte's prestigious Technology Fast 50 Program for Colorado, a ranking of the 50 fastest growing technology companies in the area by Deloitte & Touche LLP. This year's Colorado Technology Fast 50 program is sponsored by Holme Roberts and Owen LLP and The Denver Business Journal. Rankings are based on the percentage of growth in fiscal year revenues over five years, from 1999-2003.
Aspen Systems' CEO, Mr. Steven Spring, credits a high level of knowledge, experience, and commitment by its employees with the company's fast growth over the past five years. He said, "Because of our employees' industry knowledge and company commitment, Aspen Systems has been very successful over the last five years and will continue to grow into the future."
Aspen Systems' increase in revenues of 42 percent from 1999 to 2003 resulted in a 49 ranking overall in the Fast 50 for Colorado. The average increase in revenues among companies who made the Fast 50 for this region was 708 percent.
"In an era where technology companies come and go, making the Deloitte Fast 50 is a testament to a company's vision that allows growth over five years", said Steve Yaroch, Chair of the 2004 Colorado Technology Fast 50 and Colorado Technology, Media & Telecommunications Practice Leader, Deloitte & Touche LLP. "Aspen Systems' leadership have the right stuff for growth, and Deloitte salutes their accomplishments."
To qualify for the Technology Fast 50, companies must have had operating revenues of at least $50,000 in 1999 and $1,000,000 in 2003, must be public or private companies headquartered in North America, and be a "technology company" defined as owning proprietary technology that contributes to a significant portion of the company's operating revenues; and devoting a significant proportion of revenues to research and development of technology.
Winners of the 19 regional Technology Fast 50 programs in the United States and Canada are automatically entered in the Deloitte Technology Fast 500 program, which ranks North America's top 500 fastest growing technology companies.
