Aspen Systems Releases ABC 4.0
Wheat Ridge, Colorado, August 8, 2006 - Aspen Systems, Inc., a world leader in the custom design, manufacture and service of a wide array of Linux®-based high-performance computing solutions, announced today the release of version 4.0 for their turnkey, browser-based software management system, Aspen Beowulf Cluster (ABC) Management Software. ABC 4.0 is built on the foundation of the currently successful ABC 1.2.

Aspen Systems has expanded ABC 4.0 to include the following capabilities:

  • IPMI support

  • New Cluster Monitor Display

  • Remote Terminal feature

ABC has been extensively rewritten to improve performance. The majority of this work has gone into a new configuration database system, which employs an XML-based "registry" system, rather than the SQL database and object-relational mapping system in previous versions of ABC Stated Steve Spring, CEO of Aspen Systems. In addition, there is now a comprehensive strategy in place for ensuring that databases and configuration information can be easily migrated to future versions of ABC; Spring added.
About ABC
ABC is a true interactive cluster management tool that enables remote monitoring and management to the cluster from anywhere in the world. The ABC Software Management system is an umbrella of tools and utilities designed to manage, control and operate a Beowulf cluster from a single integrated application.
