At Aspen Systems, our primary business is building and supporting
custom high performance computational clusters and solutions
for customers just like you. We've done this for a long time, and
we deliver several different types of proven, turn-key clusters
built for your needs.
Custom Built:
Like most HPC vendors Aspen offers a standardized build
and package selection that follows HPC best practices. However, unlike some other HPC vendors, we also offer you the opportunity to customize your cluster hardware and software, with options and capabilities tuned to your specific needs and your environment.
This is a more complex process than simply providing you a “canned” cluster, which might or might not best fit your needs. Many customers value us for our flexibility and engineering expertise, coming back again and again for upgrades to existing clusters, or new clusters which mirror their current optimized solutions. Other customers value our standard cluster configuration to serve their HPC computing needs, and purchase that option from us again and again.
If you wish to procure a custom built cluster that is built to your specifications, call an Aspen sales engineer today. The process they will use to design a cluster to best fit your needs is outlined in our
HPC Buyers Guide .for your convenience.
Turn-Key:
Aspen normally ships clusters to our customers as complete turn-key solutions, including
full remote testing
by you before the cluster is shipped. Often, all a customer will
need to do is unpack the racks, roll them into place, connect power and networking, and
begin computing. Of course our involvement doesn't end when the system is delivered. Aspen offers industry
leading
support
as well!
Expertise:
With many years of experience in the high-performance computing industry,
Aspen is uniquely qualified to provide unparalleled systems, infrastructure, and
management support tailored to your unique needs.
Built to the highest quality, customized to your needs, and fully integrated,
our clusters provide many years of trouble free computing for customers all over the
world. Aspen can handle all aspects of your HPC needs,
including facility design
or
upgrades,
supplemental
cooling ,
power management,
remote access solutions,
software optimization
and many
additional
managed services .
Do you need cluster management? The
Aspen Beowulf Cluster
suite gives you full control over your cluster from any web browser.
Real time cluster status, hardware monitoring, package management, full bare metal
restore and imaging, and job submission are only a few of ABC
impressively large feature set.
Superior Service:
Aspen offers industry leading support options. Our Standard Service
package is free of charge to every customer, and we offer additional support packages,
such as our future proofing
Flex Service
or our fully managed
Total Service
package
, along with
many additional
Add-on
services
too!.
With our
On-site
services, Aspen can come to you to fully integrate your new cluster into your
existing infrastructure or perform other upgrades and changes you require.
We also offer standard and custom
Training
packages for your
administrators
and your end
users
, or even informal customized
one on one
assistance.
Aspen Systems has a proven track record of success in field of high-performance
computing, with an install base of many thousands of solutions. Aspens' professionally
trained and certified engineers will design your solution with you, build and
qualify your cluster to our exacting standards, help you test your codes while the
cluster is still on our manufacturing floor, deliver, and integrate your cluster
on-site if you wish, then give you experienced, friendly, and industry leading
support for the life of your system. What are you waiting for?

Cluster Types
x86/x86-64 Clusters
Commodity x86/x86-64 clusters are the most common clusters in use today, combining versatility, reliability, high performance, and cost effectiveness with a large application base. Often called "Beowulf"clusters, x86 (32 bit) and x86_64 (64 bit) clusters are collections of independent nodes which utilize a private network or networks to team together and provide amazing computational power. They're normally built using Linux, and administered using common or in-house written parallel tools.... more>>

GPGPU Clusters
GPGPU (General Purpose Graphics Processing Unit) Clusters are x86/x86_64 systems that are configured with Graphics Processing Units. This type of cluster utilizes the massive floating point computational power of a modern GPUs shader pipeline to perform general purpose computing, as opposed to being hard wired solely to do graphics processing. This design generally works better with large single precision datasets, but it can suffer a large performance penalty when working with double precision or larger domain datasets... more>> |

Storage Clusters
Storage Clusters are used to service larger data space requirements or to facilitate faster access speed to your data. Often configured with parallel file systems, the storage cluster can be a stand-alone entity that services your organizational data access needs, or integrated into a your larger cluster solution to service the data performance requirements of your HPC solution. Depending on your needs your storage solution can range from a simple network attached storage device to a storage area network with Petabytes of storage.... more>> |

Visualization Clusters
Visualization clusters are x86/x86_64 systems that are configured with Graphics Processing Units just as GPGPU clusters are. Instead of using the installed GPUs for floating point calculations for a specific model, each GPU is used to perform graphics processing. Some rendering and visualization applications tile visualization jobs, so each GPU renders a portion of the output, while others time or frame slice the problem in order to generate the final product... more>>
