GT-SUITE, which contains GT-POWER, is a single software tool for modeling and simulation of systems in automotive and transportation engineering and beyond. It is based on a multi-physics platform, but offers higher-level, added-value toolboxes specifically tailored to a continually broadening set of applications:
GT-SUITE, being a single program, allows modeling of these applications both independently, as has traditionally been the norm in the industry, or with several of these systems in one model to get the full integrated effect of the system. For example consider the cooling circuit with Charged-Air-Cooler & EGR Cooler and its link to engine performance: this can be readily analyzed in a single model for warm-up analysis & for the design of combined cooling circuit and engine.

HyperCrash HyperCrash is a robust pre-processing environment specifically designed to automate the creation of high-fidelity models for crash analysis and safety evaluation. Developed in cooperation with the industry's leading manufacturers, HyperCrash increases departmental efficiency and results accuracy through process driven workflows and automated model checking and correction.

LS-Dyna is widely used by the automotive industry to analyze vehicle designs. LS-DYNA accurately predicts a car's behavior in a collision and the effects of the collision upon the car's occupants. With LS-DYNA, automotive companies and their suppliers can test car designs without having having to tool or experimentally test a prototype, thus saving time and expense. LS-DYNA is a general purpose transient dynamic finite element program capable of simulating complex real world problems. It is optimized for shared and distributed memory Unix, Linux, and Windows based, platforms. http://www.lstc.com/lsdyna.htm
PAMCRASH is an explicit Finite-Element program. Designed with material laws and efficient contact algorithms, it is well suited for crash simulation. Special features such as airbag simulation complete add substantially to the programs features. Applications at the professorship are crash simulation of components which has been executed at the crash test facility. Interaction of vehicles with deformable soils are investigated, too.
