What is the largest cluster size that can be managed by ABC?

Aspen Systems Beowulf Cluster management software is designed to scale to over 4,000 nodes.

What types of devices can be monitored with ABC?

Any intelligent IP peripheral that has an IP stack can be monitored for UP/DOWN status. Devices with an SNMP stack can report any of their MIB elements through the ABC application.

Do all compute nodes within a cluster need to be the same architecture?

ABC can support any mix of heterogeneous Intel and AMD nodes within a cluster (i.e. nodes with different motherboard specifications). See the requirements page for further information.

How does one log in to the ABC application?

Access to the ABC application is browser based. Most web browsers can access and utilize ABC.

Does ABC run on 32-bit architectures?

Yes, ABC runs on Intel and AMD 32-bit architectures.

Does ABC run on 64-bit systems?

The ABC application runs on 64-bit OpteronTM and Intel Nocona (Xeon EM64T) systems running SuSE Linux 9.0 and above, or Fedora Core 2 and above.

How does ABC implement security?

ABC security is enabled through the use of a Secured Socket Layer implementation for Java servlets. An authorized log in is required in order to use the system.
