Job description:

We are excited to bring an experienced senior accountant to our team. This person is responsible for corporate accounting and all internal reporting for Aspen Systems, Inc. They will work closely with the CEO on several projects tied to operational optimization, such as margin evaluations, productivity, purchasing costs, internal controls, systems, and processes. This is a full-time career position. The job responsibilities will be executed within our Wheat Ridge, Colorado office. Concrete leadership skills and an assertive demeanor are required for the successful execution of this position, and experience in manufacturing will be beneficial. Strong knowledge of internal audit principles, practices, and procedures and a technical understanding of controls are required. We are audited yearly.

Responsibilities Include:

Producing timely and accurate standard reports & tasks, including income statements, balance sheets, general ledger adjustments, chart of accounts improvements, depreciation adjustments, deferred warranty accruals, bank balance reconciliations, and monthly commission reports. Preparing for and working with our outside Accounting CPAs for year-end close and tax preparation. Preparing and working with external auditors. Managing banking relationships, including lines of credit, negotiations, reconciliations, loan schedules, management fees, etc. Treasury management experience is required. Auditing all sales orders by line item to validate cost accounting. Auditing all freight costs, credit card costs/charges, and other sales expenses. Managing and paying all federal, state, county, and city taxes. Ensuring compliance with all regulations, business licenses, etc. Managing, reevaluating, and approving customer credit terms and customer credit standing. Executing human resource responsibilities, including all insurance benefits, vacation accrual and usage, and new-hire/termination paperwork. Auditing and approving travel and expense reimbursement submissions for compliance. Generating complex commission reports on time using Microsoft Excel. Maintaining a library of documentation outlining corporate policies and procedures. Creating. Reconcile all AP/AR to purchase orders to ensure accuracy.

Required Skills and Knowledge Base:

Masters in Finance or Accounting or related studies. CPA preferred. Eleven years of experience plus two years of supervisory responsibility. Full Charge or equivalent experience is highly desirable. Understanding the tax implications of a Subchapter-S Corporation. Must have a complete understanding of accrual-based and GAAP accounting. Corporate accounting experience, including overhead and payroll. Highly advanced computer skills and knowledge. Experience with large-scale ERP such as Oracle, SAP, or Microsoft Dynamics. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including lookups, pivot tables, counting and summing formulas, conditional formatting, filters, protecting your spreadsheets, text manipulation, charting basics, keyboard shortcuts, array formulas, conditional/logical formulas, and macros. Familiar with Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Office Products, especially Outlook. Experience with Epicor 10.0 and Crystal Reports, SSRS is a valuable asset to this position.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $80,000.00 – $95,000.00 per year
