Optimized for cloud, enterprise, HPC, network, security, and IoT workloads with 8 to 40 powerful cores and a wide range of frequency, feature, and power levels.
Along with having up to 40 CPU Cores, The Intel 3rd Generation Ice Lake CPUs come with eight (8) memory channels of DDR4-3200MHz memory for improved performance and balanced memory capacity over the 2nd Generation Cascade Lake CPUs.
Also new to the 3rd Generation CPUs is Brain floating-point format (bfloat16) which is a number encoding format occupying 16 bits representing a floating-point number. It is a more efficient numeric format for workloads which have high compute intensity but lower need for precision.
The Ice Lake processors also have a selection of CPUs with Speed Select Technology (SST). While SST was available on Cascade Lake, with Ice Lake, you will be able to dynamically adjust core count and power, as well as configuring the frequency.
